The Line: -- Over/Under:
Liverpool and Tottenham will play be playing in the final of the UEFA Champions League in Madrid.
Liverpool have had an outstanding season and would consider themselves unlucky as they did not win the Premier League title. Liverpool only lost 1 game in the Premier League this season and were the top defensive team in England as they only conceded 22 goals. Virgil Van Dijk has had an outstanding season and the Dutch defender has been the main reason for the team’s defensive success. As far as the attacking is concerned, Liverpool have the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane. This attacking trio led Liverpool to the final of the Champions League last season and they have continued their form this time around. Liverpool will enter this match filled with confidence as they have had a terrific season and have beaten the likes of FC Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich in this competition.
On the other side of the coin, this will be a historic outing for Tottenham. The Spurs have never made it this far in the Champions League and there is a great feeling surrounding this club. Tottenham have had a modest season in the Premier League but they have saved their best for the Champions League where they have eliminated the likes of Ajax and Manchester City. Lucas was outstanding in the previous match and the Brazilian winger will enter this match with tons of confidence after his performance in Amsterdam. It seems like Harry Kane may return for this match but it is hard to expect much from the striker as he has been injured for an age. Tottenham have had some big games this season and they will hope that they can cause an upset in this match.
Liverpool and Tottenham have met twice this season with the Reds winning on both occasions.
Tottenham have done very well to make it this far in the tournament. The Spurs have shown a great sense of belief and determination especially during the semifinal match in Amsterdam. That being said, I am going to pick Liverpool to win. The Reds have been better than Tottenham all season and they have a 2-0 record against the Spurs. Liverpool have all their bases covered and I see them being too strong for Tottenham in this match.
