Liverpool had a massive win in their last pre-season friendly as the Reds beat Chester by 7 goals. While this was an expected result, it is always a good feeling for the team. It was good to see the likes of Naby Keita and Fabinho getting some game time for their new team and Daniel Sturridge scoring a few goals. The preseason friendlies continue for Liverpool as the team takes on the Tranmere Rovers.
While it was expected a few weeks ago that this will be a sellout crowd for Tranmere Rovers, it is unlikely this will be the case since the friendly match has clashed time slots with the England semi-final. This is not great for the home team since these pre-season friendlies are a great way to raise some capital for the upcoming season. The Tranmere Rovers are a club based near Liverpool so expect many locals to cheer on both teams since many of the Tranmere Rovers’ players and fans will be Liverpool fans. Not much is expected from the home team but it should be a great footballing atmosphere.
On the other side of the coin, Liverpool will look to win another game and try some new players. It is expected that Klopp will name a very similar team to the one that beat Chester FC last week and this is done with the intention of giving some key players some minutes on the pitch. Daniel Sturridge will be a big player in this game and he will have tons to prove since he has not been at the level he is expected to be at. Getting game time will be huge in improving the fitness of the former England international and this could be vital since a healthy Daniel Sturridge could give Klopp another dangerous attacking option this season.
All in all, I am expecting Liverpool to win this game easily. The best bet we are getting is the over 3.5 goals which should win since I expect the Reds to easily score 4 times.
