Liverpool vs Watford - 2/27/19 - English Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

In the English Premier League, Liverpool will host Watford at home at Anfield. Both Liverpool and Watford enter this match in good form so we should expect a very exciting match.

Liverpool lost points in their previous match as they only managed a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United. It was a decent performance by the Reds although the result means that they are only 1 point ahead to Manchester City. During the draw at Old Trafford, Liverpool controlled 65% of the possession and had 7 shots but with a shot accuracy of only 14%, the Reds failed to score. Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino both had very poor games and very substituted before the end of the 90 minutes. Returning to Anfield should boost Liverpool as they will be back at their fortress.

Watford, on the other hand, had a comfortable win over the weekend as they beat Cardiff City 5-1 away from home. It was a very impressive performance by the Hornets as it is hard to play away from home in Wales and they finished the game with a big win. Gerard Deulofeu was the big hero for Watford as the Spanish winger scored 3 goals. Troy Deeney was also in very good form as he scored a brace. Watford have looked very impressive this season and they will be optimistic that they can cause Liverpool some problems.

Liverpool and Watford met earlier in the season where the Hornets were the home team. On that occasion, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino led Liverpool to a 3-0 victory.

As far as this match is concerned, I am going to predict that Liverpool will win. Watford have played incredible football over the past few months but Liverpool simply have a better team. The Reds are top of the league and I see them returning to winning ways at home.
