Liverpool will begin the 2018/2019 English Premier League campaign at home as they take on West Ham United. These are two of the biggest clubs in English football and that should mean that there will be huge support for this game. This is a big season for both clubs and it will be interesting to see how these teams start their campaign.

When West Ham United moved stadium, the fans were promised that this would be the season when the club would become one of the bigger clubs in English football. While this has not happened, there is still much need for improvement since the relationship between the fans and the board is not great. Last season there were fan protests and uprising during home games against the board. The board will know that things need to improve in that respect and the best solution is if the team start winning games. The club has invested hugely this season with many top signings including former Arsenal striker, Lucas Perez. These new players should improve the team immensely.  It is not going to be an easy opening round for West Ham United since they are playing away from home against Liverpool but this game will give us an indication of how greatly the Hammers have improved during the summer.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will hope that this season they can compete for the Premier League title. The Reds had a really strong campaign last season with the likes of Salah, Mane, and Firmino leading the team. This side has managed to retain these top players and also add the likes of Kieta, Allison, and Fabinho during the transfer window. These additions have made Liverpool a very strong team and it will be interesting to see how they start their season.

While West Ham may have improved, I still see them losing to Liverpool in this match. The Reds are the better team and are at home so I only see one outcome.

Liverpool
