One of the clashes of the night in the Champions League will see Malmo take on Salzburg at the Swedbank Stadion in Malmo. Salzburg lead 2-0 from the first leg and will look to confirm their place in the next round if they can avoid a loss by three clear goals. Salzburg are without doubt the stronger panel here but with their season yet to start and Malmo eighteen games into their domestic league there was a chance that Salzburg would be caught cold, it didnt happen though in the first leg as goals from Ulmer and Hinteregger were enough to give them the victory. A solid defensive play is expected on Wednesday in Malmo.
Malmo come into this game looking for a historic win that would send them to the next round. The loan signing of Durdic from Augsburg has worked out well domestically as he has three goals in two game and he will be needed tonight if they are to turn this leg around. Durdic, Rosenberg and Berget must bring the game to Salzburg and take any chances created by the home side. An early goal for Malmo may put the pressure on Salzburg but this is a big ask as Malmo are actually struggling in their own league at the moment sitting mid table.
I think that we see a professional defensive display from Salzburg here and I think they get this done tonight, they may not win the game outright and in fact I think a draw is the most likely outcome but a 0-0 would not surprise me. I am taking the unders as I think Malmo may struggle to break down the compact Salzburg side and I think Salzburg dont have much incentive to come out and attack. Not a huge play but one with enough value to take.
