One of the best games of the day will see Manchester City play host to a strong Borussia Mochengladbach team at the Ethiad Arena. The two teams come into this game in polar opposite form as Borussia just beat Bayern Munich at the weekend and are unbeaten in their last thirteen games. They travel to England in great form and know that win against City will guarantee them Europa League football after Christmas. The reality is though had Mochengladback not been robbed in the last minute against City in the first meeting of the two then this game would be a winner take all for qualification to the knockout stages. Instead though Borussia Mochengladbach will play to keep their European ambitions alive. Stindl, Raffael and Hazard will be key to the visitors who's strong work ethic will make this an intruging game.
Manchester City come into this game having lost three of their last five games and are really struggling in front of goal. With Sergio Aguero and Ya Ya Toure doubthful for this clash through injury pressure will mount on Bony, Sterling and De Bruyne to lead the way for City. All three were excellent against Sevilla in their away fixture in the Champions League and while City played well in Italy against Juventus they never really threatened the home side over the ninty minutes. At the weekend Manchester City were blitzed by the speed of Stoke's counter attack and direct football where their center forwards and wingers all attacked at pace on the break. It was a blue print in how to play against this injury ravaged Manchester City who are also missing Kompany and Zabaleta at the back.
Having been on the Borussia Mochengladbach express at the weekend against Bayern Munich I am going to take the underdogs again here. I see them with lots of chances agaisnt this City defence and while it wont be enough to get them to the knockout stages I think they will get the win here and create a little stir in Manchester.
