Manchester City vs Arsenal - 2/3/19 - English Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

In the English Premier League, Manchester City will host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Manchester City suffered a shock defeat in their last game as they were defeated by Newcastle United. While the defeat was very disappointing for the Sky Blues, they were given a lifeline as Liverpool failed to beat Leicester City meaning the title race is still alive. The defence was very poor for Manchester City in their last outing. Laporte and Stones were both very poor and they allowed Newcastle United too many chances. Fernandinho was also very disappointing as his mistake was decisive in allowing Newcastle to get the win. On a positive note, Sergio Aguero was impressive as the Argentine scored early to give the Sky Blues a lead. In general, Manchester City have been very good this season and the team will expect to bounce back strongly in this match.

On the other side of the coin, Arsenal had a big win over the weekend as they beat Cardiff City at home. It was an impressive win for the Gunners and it was very crucial as both Manchester United and Chelsea dropped points. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been very good for Arsenal and he continued his good form in the previous game as he scored a very important goal. This is expected to be a very tough match for Arsenal as they are playing an exceptional team away from home.

Arsenal and Manchester City played earlier in the season. On that occasion, Manchester City won 2-0 with the match being played at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick Manchester City to win this match. Manchester City are the stronger side and the Sky Blues will be desperate to bounce back strongly after their surprise defeat. Manchester City are exceptionally strong and I see them winning at home.
