Manchester City and Bayern Munich will continue their preseason matches as they face each other in the International Champions Cup. While the results from these games are not important, both managers will be determined to ensure they have their players playing well for the start of the season which is one month away. That being said, there will be tons of great players playing so we should enjoy a top quality football match.
Manchester City lost to Liverpool in their last friendly match. The Sky Blues were playing well for most of the contest but the addition of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah made it too tough for the young Manchester City team to hang on. The loss will not worry the manager as none of the first team defenders played this match. The positive for Manchester City will be that Leroy Sane scored a great goal which means that the exciting winger is back at full strength after being left out of the German World Cup squad.
On the other side of the coin, Bayern Munich also managed to lose their last friendly game as they were beaten by Juventus. This was a slightly concerning match for the German side as players like Javi Martinez, Sandro Wagner, and Frank Ribery were playing. The team from Bavaria lacked attacking threat and were poor defensively as they were beaten convincingly by the Italian team. It will be important for the manager that the players put out a better performance this weekend against Manchester City.
While it is hard to predict this result, I am going to go with Manchester City winning. I am expecting the likes of Sane, Mahrez and Bernardo Silva to play and I think that will ensure that the English champions have enough to beat a poor looking Bayern Munich side. In addition to that, expect this to be a high scoring game as neither team is playing their best defense.
