Manchester City were one of the best sides in Europe last season and although they underperformed in the UEFA Champions League, the English side will be happy with how their team is established. The Sky Blues are always busy in the transfer market and it seems like they have acquired Leicester City superstar, Riyad Mahrez. The manager will be keen to get the Algerian playmaker time on the pitch and there will be a great opportunity for that as the team plays Borussia Dortmund in a preseason friendly.
This is a big year for Borussia Dortmund as they look to reclaim their spot as one of the top sides in Germany and Europe. This team lost many of their top players last season and they will be desperate to rebuild their side to ensure they are a good team this season. Wilfried Zaha has been a target for the German club but nothing is yet to be settled with Crystal Palace not willing to let the Ivory Coast winger leave. This will be a big game for Borussia Dortmund since it will give a good indication of the areas where the team needs to strengthen before the regular season starts. As it currently stands, Borussia Dortmund will need to improve their defense, and striker positions with the intention of replacing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who went to Arsenal last January.
As far as this game is concerned, I think that Borussia Dortmund might actually win. The majority of the Manchester City first team consists of players like Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne who were all at the FIFA World Cup and have been given additional time to rest. While Manchester City have a strong bench, I don’t think it will be good enough to beat a Borussia Dortmund side with most of their top players back at the club. We are getting a great price to wager on Borussia Dortmund winning so that is the bet I am suggesting.
