The international break is finally over and for many football fans this is a relief as their club teams are back in action. This week in the Premier League the marquee clash is going to be happening on Saturday night as Manchester City host Klopp’s Liverpool outfit. This game has plenty of stars and should be an exciting game for football fans all around the world.
Manchester City are in great form and are equal leaders in the Premier League. This team has plenty of talent and have been winning consistently this season. Furthermore their home record has been great. If there is a concern going into this match it is the fitness their superstar players. Aguero is has been out injured for a while and while there is a possibility he will play, it seems unlikely. David Silva is also doubtful to play with an ankle injury. The rest of the squad is fit and although these two players are insanely important for Pellegrini and his team, there are plenty of other superstars who are in form and should be more than able to lead Manchester City to victory.
Liverpool on the other hand have not been in good form after losing to Crystal Palace at home. Furthermore they had a terrible start to the season and overall the team has not been in good form. The only bright light for the fans at Anfield is the new manager, Klopp, who has been brought in with insanely high expectation. Klopp is an amazing manager and he showed his worth in Germany but he is no wizard and he needs time. I think that Liverpool are going to improve but they will be nowhere near the quality of Manchester City.
The bookmakers have Manchester City as overwhelming favorites so honestly there is no value in betting on the outright result. Furthermore, I think that the handicap is set incorrectly with Manchester City (-1) at 2.50 which is way too low since Liverpool tend not to get smashed in big games. The only value bet that I can see is for both teams to win. City have been winning but they have also had trouble keeping a clean sheet. In the last six games they have only kept a clean sheet one which makes me feel that there is value in this bet. Having said that though, perhaps just watching this game as a spectator may be the best value.
