After a devestating loss to Arsenal in Monday night football Manchester City will look to bounce back when they take on Sunderland at the Ethiad. Manchester City were the better team on Monday night but goals win games and Arsenal took their chances. Manuel Pelligrini was apoplectic after the game, his side played all the football and created chances but couldnt score in the first eighty minutes. Ya Ya Toure did manage a consolation late in the game but City were unlucky not to get themselves a couple early in the season. Sterling, De Bruyne and Bony will be looking for some post Christmas cheer when they face the worst defence in the Premier League on Saturday.
Sunderland have now lost three in a row and they face a Manchester City team that need a win, it's a tough position for Sam Allardyce and his team. The black cats are in danger of being marrooned at the bottom of the league table. After a couple of wins in a row Sunderland had moved to within a point of safety but they are now five points from safety and given the Christmas fixtures they could find themselves eight or more points behind if they dont pick up somepoints over the nest two games. Defoe and Fletcher can play on the counter and Sunderland have some hard working midfielders and defenders and keeper Pantillimon was a former Manchester City player and will up his game for his return but he needs help from a defence that has been abysmal all season.
Tough to see anything but a comfortable win here for Manchester City, no value in the 1/5 being offered though. Instead I'm taking the overs in the first half goals as I see Manchester City coming out and blitzing Sunderland here. Over 1.5 goals should be available around 6/4 and is value as I see this being a blitzcreig by City.
