Currently sitting top of the Premier League with three wins from three and eight goals scored , zero conceded it's tough to make a case for any team against Manchester City let alone a newly promoted Waterford side who have struggled to score in their last two games and got knocked out of the league cup by Preston. But such is the situation I find myself in here. I believe Watford manager Sanchez-Flores knows his sides limitations and will play a pressing game for two thirds of the pitch but allow Manchester City to have the ball at the back. Watford have worked extremely hard in their opening three games of the season and have been very good as a defensive unit. The midfield of Behrami, Capoue and Watson protect the back four and Deeney and Ighalo up front do a good job of taking pressure off with their hold up play and tireless running.
While it would be naieve to think that this will be a simple case of Watford parking the bus and getting something from the game I think that the players they have and their managers tactical know how will allow Watford to frustrate Manchester City for long periods and with some luck I think Watford can hold out until at least half time here. Manchester City of course have the quality to out play and take apart any type of defence with Aguero, Sterling and Silva looking like the best front three in the league right now and Ya Ya Toure finally back to playing at his best level. Vincent Kompany has also been immense this season and the Manchester City captain has done everything that has been asked of him by Manager Manuel Pelligrini. Manchester City though have been excellent this season and this is just a min play for me but struggling to find any value in the market this popped out.
Of course Manchester City may blitz Watford on Saturday but I really dont think that will happen and I am going to take the Hornets to get to halftime without being a goal down. Take the Draw at halftime and get ready for some nerve jangling incidents in the first half!
