Manchester City will host Watford at home at the Etihad Stadium for a match in the English Premier League.
Manchester City regained top spot on the English Premier League ladder last weekend after beating Bournemouth away from home. It was a solid match for Manchester City as the team controlled 82% of the ball while taking 23 shots. Riyad Mahrez was the key player for Manchester City as the winger scored the only goal of the game. The defence was very strong for Manchester City as they ensured that Bournemouth had no shots in the entire match. Manchester City have been exceptional all season and now that they have the lead at the top of the table, the motivation should be high for the players to see the task out.
On the other side of the coin, Watford also won last weekend as the Hornets beat Leicester City 2-1. Andre Grey was the hero for Watford during the win as he scored the winning goal in injury time. It has been a very good season for Watford and they have maintained a position in the top 10 for the majority. Travelling to the Etihad Stadium has been an extremely hard task over the past few years and that trend is expected to continue for Watford this weekend.
Watford and Manchester City met earlier in the season at Vicarage Road where the Sky Blues won by a score of 2-1. Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane were the goal scorers for Manchester City while Abdoulaye Doucouré was the goal scorer for Watford.
All in all, I am going to pick Manchester City to win this match. Watford have played well all season but they have had most of their success against mid-table teams. Manchester City are a level above Watford and considering recent form, I am expecting an easy win for the Sky Blues.
