The English Premier League season continues on Wednesday with Manchester City and West Ham United facing off at Etihad Stadium.
City has knocked off West Ham United seven times in a row and during that stretch, they have scored 23 goals while giving up just three.
Manchester City is still reeling from the news of the Champions League ban, but the hope is it won’t have any impact on the field. The city hasn’t played for over two weeks, which has given them a lot of time to think about their last loss. Oleksandr Zinchenko was sent off in the 60th minute for Man City, and down to only ten men, they gave up two goals to Tottenham. Manchester City is also going to be without Raheem Sterling who is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Man City hasn’t scored a goal in their last two games, and that is concerning for a team that has scored 65 goals on the season.
West Ham is going to have an uphill climb, but even getting one point in this game, would go a long way in saving this season. West Ham currently has 24 points which puts them in the relegation zone.
West Ham’s last win was on January 5th in the FA cup. Since that point, West Ham has lost four games and played to a couple of draws.
West Ham’s offense, for the most part, hasn’t been an issue, but their defense has been terrible. In United’s last game they gave up three goals to Brighton, which could be a bad sign going against an offense as good as Manchester City.
City’s offense has struggled, but it’s going to be a welcome sight playing a terrible defense against West Ham. Look for Manchester City to put up three goals, and to keep a clean sheet.
