Manchester United Transfer News: Baines And Fellaini Both Put In Formal Transfer Requests To Leave Everton

With only a few days to go before the official transfer deadline, both Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini have put in formal transfer requests to facilitate their moves to Manchester United.

Time is running out for David Moyes and Manchester United if they are to complete their transfer deals before the window closes on 2nd September at 11pm GMT. In a frustrating summer, where Moyes has had a number of transfer bids rejected it looks like he will have to return to his former club with an offer they cannot refuse for both Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.

United`s original bid of £28m was laughed out of town and even their subsequent improved offer of £30m seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Moyes will now have to make a final bid of around £38m to secure the signings of the two Everton players. Of course, Everton want some time themselves to complete the deal for James McCarthy from Wigan, so I expect there to be frantic negotiations over the next 48 hours to get the deals done.

United have been linked with Cesc Fabregas, Luca Modric, Mezut Ozil and Thiago Alcantara over the summer, but no bids have been successful and Moyes knows that just the psychological effect of new signings will spark extra effort and belief into the team ahead of a busy schedule and some tough games ahead.

United have drawn a relatively easy group in the Champions League, playing Beyer Leverkusen, Shaktar Donetsk and Real Sociodad, but Moyes will have been made aware that competing in all the competitions, as United do, will call upon all of the resources of the club if they are to be successful.

I expect that the deals for Baines and Fellaini will be done and possibly one other last minute deal.

On July 1, 2008 I typed into Google "How Do I start A Blog" and I started my first website called "Miami Mitch's Place" where i shared my college football Picks and predictions as well as opinion. By the Fall I had heard from many that the title made it sound like the site was about Miami so I changed it to "College Football Place" (cfbplace.com), After the 2008 college football season I change focus and launched CBBplace.com, it wasn't long after that when I realized I just wanted one place to add all sports, and that's when Sports Chat Place was born.

This site is a big Thank You to all of our readers, visitors, and community where we have been given a platform to talk to the masses about sports and hopefully help put you on some winners. If you need to reach me just shoot an email to [email protected]
