Manchester United vs Liverpool -2/24/19 - English Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Manchester United are set to host Liverpool at Old Trafford for a match in the English Premier League.

Manchester United have looked in good form although they lost their midweek game as they were beaten by PSG at home. It was a poor performance by the Red Devils as the lacked quality with the likes of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial having very poor games. That being said, Manchester United have had a very strong few months and in their last Premier League game, they beat Fulham 3-0 away from home. Since the arrival of the new manager, Manchester United are unbeaten in the Premier League and have beaten top teams like Arsenal and Tottenham so the team should feel confident as they head into this fixture.

On the other side of the coin, Liverpool have had an inconsistent few weeks. The Reds were well clear of Manchester City a few weeks back but following some tough matches, they are in a situation where they must win this match if they wish to remain top of the Premier League ladder. In their last outing, Liverpool beat Bournemouth at home by the score of 3-0. It was a solid performance as Liverpool had 66% of the possession while managing 20 shots. This is expected to be a tough match for the Reds as they are playing a quality opponent away from home.

Liverpool and Manchester United played earlier at the season at Anfield. On that occasion, Liverpool won the match 3-1 with Shaqiri scoring twice.

Liverpool are one of the top teams in the world but I see them losing this match. Manchester United have been very strong in the Premier League since Mourinho left and I think they are playing too well to not win at home. With the Old Trafford crowd behind them, I see Manchester United winning this match.
