Manchester United are set to host PSG at Old Trafford for the first leg of their round of 16 UEFA Champions League tie.
Manchester United has looked in incredible form in recent months and they continued their superb form over the weekend as they beat Fulham at Craven Cottage. It was a convincing performance by Manchester United as Paul Pogba scored 2 goals while Anthony Martial scored once to secure a 3-0 win. Since Jose Mourinho got fired, Manchester United are unbeaten and have got wins over teams like Tottenham and Arsenal. Pogba seems to be playing his best football and he is being well supported by Rashford, Martial and Lukaku.
On the other side of the coin, PSG have continued their dominance over Ligue 1 where they beat Bordeaux in their last game. It was a simple win as PSG had 65% of the possession and 10 shots to secure a very comfortable victory. Edinson Cavani scored the only goal of the game for PSG. PSG rested many of their players in the game against Bordeaux which should be an advantage as the likes of Mbappe, Draxler and Di Maria should be fresh for this clash. PSG have missed Neymar who is still injured and will not play any part in this match.
The last time PSG played Manchester United was in a preseason friendly in 2015. PSG won that match 2-0 although the result should not have any influence on this game as it was many seasons ago and in a non-competitive fixture.
Both PSG and Manchester United are very strong teams and will hope to begin their tie with a win. That being said, I am picking this game to end as a draw. PSG have the stronger team but at home, Manchester United should be strong enough to prevent the visitors from winning.
