Manchester United vs Real Madrid - 7/31/18 Preseason Friendly Soccer Pick, Odds and Prediction

Manchester United will take on Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup. This should be another great chance for both teams to prepare for the upcoming season and I am sure that both teams will use this opportunity to test their squad. Both teams are filled with top players so I am expecting a great football match.

Manchester United lost poorly to Liverpool in their last preseason friendly but that will not be a massive concern since most of the top players were not playing. That being said, Alexis Sanchez showed his class and it will excite fans at the prospect of the Chilean superstar winning games for them during the regular season. The defense will need to improve for Manchester United and Eric Bailly's performance will be a cause for concern but there is still plenty of time for improvement.

On the other side of the coin, Real Madrid will just begin their preseason. The UEFA Champions League winners are starting their preseason late and will look to test their players from the start. The big news at the club has been the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and it will be big for the new manager to rebuild the team. There are many rumors that the likes of Harry Kane, Eden Hazard, and Neymar could join the Spanish club but no big signings have been made yet. This will be a good chance for the manager to look at the existing players and decide on what players have a future at Real Madrid.

While it is hard to decide a winner since the squads are unknown, I am going to side with Manchester United. The Red Devils have been playing for a while and are back in full flight. Real Madrid, on the other hand, have not played for an age. While neither side is at full strength, I am going to pick Manchester United winning.
