One of the games of the night on Tuesday's Premier League fixture list will be the visit of Stoke City to Old Traffod to take on Manchester United. Stoke comprehensively beate Manchester United on boxing day, winning 2-0 in an impressive display. Can the Potters repeat the dose in Old Trafford for a rare double over Manchester United on the season? Well Stoke have some serious injuries to their squad with Arnautovic, Shawcross both likely to miss the game and both are defining players for Stoke. Mark Hughes side though do have some strength in depth and should be able to put out a competitive team on Tuesday and will not be overawed by the occasion or their opponents. Walters, Diouf, Bojan and Afellay will all take the game to United but the question will be can United's improving offence score against a Stoke back four missing their captain?
The key for almost every Manchester United performance recently has been Anthony Martial, the former Monaco man has been exceptional for United playing on the left and providing alot of assists recently, the goals have dried up but Wayne Rooney has started putting the ball in the net and if Martial can continue his excellent form I think that will help United go along way towards the top four. Mata, Schneiderlein and the ever improving Lindgaard have also been excellent of late and I think playing Fellaini and Schneiderlein together has allowed Mata the space to play in behind Wayne Rooney. I think Louis Van Gaal has found the right balance here and this could be the formation that see's Manchester United improve for the rest of the season. It is a formation that allows for tinkering with Depay , Schweinsteiger and Carrick all able to assimilate into the line up.
While I dont really like the price here I think that Manchester United will win this game. Having looked at the prices though I dont see United at home at 8/11 a great price given the teams struggles at times. Instead though I am going to take Manchester United to win with both teams to score. With United's defence being solid the price on this is a little over inflated. Stoke are a good side and should be able to find the net here and while I think United's struggles have been real this season I am almost convinced that Van Gaal has now found a balance that works. I'm going to take United here with both teams to score. Lots of value at 16/5
