A new look Manchester United will take to the pitch at Old Trafford on Saturday morning against Tottenham Hotspur in the first game of the Barclays English Premier League, in what should be a really entertaining game between two good footballing teams. Manuel Pochettino brings a similar looking Tottenham who haven't added much in depth or quality but who have gotten better defensively with the addition of Toby Alderweireld from Athletico. Tottenham have a good squad and with quality in the midfield like Erikson, Chadli and Lamela they will create chances for Harry Kane who is going to be under enormous pressure to lead the line. Tottenham have not added significant help up front in my opinion and Kane is going to need to score thrity plus goals this season for Spurs if they are to compete for the Champions League, that is a tough ask for a player in his second full season in the Premier League but on Saturday he will be playing against a United team who have been anything but impressive at the back.
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has added a number of quality signings to his squad with Darmian,Schneiderlein, Depay and Schwiensteiger all coming in for big money. Moving out Cleverly, Raphael and Van Persie have made way and it will be interesting to see how this team gels. Wayne Rooney is still captain and will be the main man up front for United although they could themselves do with an addition or two up front. United's weakness still looks to be at the back where they have failed to impress in the off season struggleing in nearly all their pre season games defensively. Daly Blind may be the answer at center back but the question remains who will partner him.
I think this is one of the favourite games for the neutrals in the Premier League, historically United have owned spurs over the years and it's hard to see Tottenham changing that on Saturday but I think this could be a really entertaining game. I am going to take the overs here , I think tottenham can get at this United defence and I also like the new look of United's forward line who are going to ask plenty of questions of Tottenhams defence. This one should be a cracker to open the season and I expect three of more goals easily.
