The second leg of the Championship semi final between Middlesbrough and Brentford takes place Friday night in the Riverside, last weekend Middlesbrough robbed Brentford in the nintieth minute but probably just about shaded the game. Middlesbrough have quality throughout the side with Vossen and Bamford up front leading the way and the experienced Leadbetter and White hea pressing home the importance of closing out this game Boro fans will be desperate to make it to a playoff final and hopefully move back to the Premier league. Last week Boro were impressive and that much hyped defence lived up to the billing as they stopped Brentfrd from creating alot of clear cut chances.
While Middlesbrough did out play Brentford last week there were still signs that Brentfrd are a dangerous opponent and with Pritchard and Gray up front the Bee's are always going to have a chance to win a game as they have the quality finishers. This is an easy game for Brentford in that they know they must go to the Riverside and win, a draw is no good to the away side and so I think we will see a humdinger of a game from the off. Captian Douglas will again be a key figure tonight as the Irish man put himself about in the first leg and arrived int he box a split second too late on a couple of occasions, if Douglas can get the timing right tonight. Brentford could well have their match winner in their captain.
Tough game for Brentford here, they must go to Middlebrough and win but they are facing the best defence in the Championship. I think that because of the situation both teams will be nervous and I think there will be mistakes. I am going to take both teams to score here and I think that Brentford may just be able to shock boro here but it is going to take a monumental effort.
