The MLS All-Stars game is one of the biggest fixtures on the US soccer calendar and this year the MLS All-Stars will be taking on Juventus. This game is a great chance for the top MLS players to show the world that they are of a high quality and represent the growing league. Juventus are set to be a tough challenge for the All-Stars and it will be interesting to see how this match unfolds.
The MLS All-Stars will be blessed with the likes of David Villa, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Brad Guzan and Sebastian Giovinco. Most of these players have played in the major leagues in Europe and will be determined to show the world that they can still compete at the top level. Swedish superstar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has withdrawn from this fixture but that should not be a massive issue since this squad is still stacked with plenty of incredible players.
On the other side of the coin, Juventus would be very interested in winning this match. The European side has won the past 2 MLS All-Stars games and I don’t think the Italian champions will be eager to end that winning streak. It is unclear what players Juventus will play but Cristiano Ronaldo will not be playing as he is not part of the squad. That being said, the likes of Emre Can, Sami Khedira, and Alex Sandro should all be playing so there will be more than enough talent for the Italian giants. The only part of the pitch that Juventus are lacking is the attacking section and although there are enough quality players, the ability to finish chances might be an issue. Either way, this Juventus side is looking very strong and I don’t see them not winning.
All in all, Juventus should win this match. The Italian side is stacked with talent and experience which means a lot in these games. On the other hand, the MLS All-Stars lack the cohesion of playing together and that could mean trouble. Expect this to be a high scoring game since it is a commercial event and fans want to see goals.
