After a terrific 3-1 win at the Emirates Monaco look to close out the last sixteen tie against Arsenal on Tuesday at the Stade Louis II. Monaco have been terrific since the turn of the year and went to London and won comfortably against a heavily fancied Arsenal side. This game now becomes a trickier tie though as Monaco have to avoid the temptation of sitting back on their 3-1 lead. With Monaco's stellar defence they could be forgiven for trying to close this one out with a 0-0 at the Stade Louis but Arsenal are the wrong team to try that against.
With Arsenal's invention and speed on the wings along with Sanchez, Giroud, Cazorla and Ozil there is enough talent on this Gunners team to win by three or four in Monaco if the french side go too defensive. I think Arsene Wenger's side have nothing to lose and they will come out and go for the win from the off. An early goal for Arsenal would make things interesting but they face a really tough task here against a Monaco team that have conceded just one goal at home in their last thirteen games.
This one is a really interesting tie Arsenal simply have to go for it from the off but they are in France against a defence that is rock solid. Arsene Wenger's team will have to hope for an early break through to put some doubt in the home team's mind but with Martial, Mouthino and Berbatov up front Monaco have their own goal threat. Playing on the counter attack will actually suit Monaco down to the ground here and I am going to take the home underdog on the handicap here. This one should be interesting to watch tactically but I'm not sure we see many goals as I think a 0-0 or 1-1 is the most likely outcome.
