AS Monaco vs Toulouse 4th August 2017: Ligue 1 Preview and predictions

French Ligue 1 is about to get underway and the season is set to start with the champions of last season, AS Monaco, taking on Toulouse in beautiful Monte Carlo. Both teams will be desperate to get their seasons off to a good start so I think we are in for a treat.

AS Monaco have lost a lot of players over the summer transfer window but they still have a ton of quality. Whether or not Mbappe will be playing is still unknown since it looks like he might be moving to either Real Madrid of FC Barcelona. That being said, I think this should be a pretty simple game for the French Champions with the likes of Fabinho and Falcao still leading this side well.

Toulouse on the other hand will be very desperate to cause an upset in the opening round of fixtures but to be honest this seems very unlikely. This side is clearly not up to the level on AS Monaco and given the fact that they are away from home makes this task very close to impossible.

So to sum up, I am predicting that AS Monaco will win this game. I think that they are clearly better and at home so it makes sense. As far as betting is concerned, we are not getting the right price to make this bet. I think the price is too short and considering it is the opening round fixture, this makes it too much of a risk. I think that the over 2.5 goals is a better bet. Both teams have goals in them and AS Monaco might score 3 on their own so this is the best get in my opinion.

Over 2.5 goals
