The Montreal Impact had a disappointing loss in their last game as they lost to New York City FC away from home. While losing is never a nice result, the Impact would have expected that result and the morale should not have been impacted much. This weekend they are back in French Canada where they will host the San Jose Earthquake at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. The Earthquake and the Impact are two very exciting teams to watch play so we should get a great game of soccer.
It has not been a good season for the San Jose Earthquake as the still remain at the bottom of the ladder in the Western Conference. There is no chance of playoffs but I am expecting this team to try and improve since finishing last is something that every franchise wants to avoid. The last time San Jose played was at Portland against the Timbers and although they lost that game, they looked competitive for a large portion of the 90 minutes. That performance shows that the team is improving and at this stage of the season that is the best the club can hope for. This will be a tough game for the San Jose Earthquake since they have to make a very long trip to Canada and play a team that is very good at home.
As far as the Montreal Impact are concerned, they will look to win this game easily since they have a long schedule ahead and will not want to use up too much energy. The Impact is the better team and they will know that a decent performance should be enough to get them three points. Expect the Impact to rest some players for this clash but even with squad players, Montreal should win.
All in all, I am going to predict that the Montreal Impact will win this match. They are much better than the San Jose Earthquake and at home, Montreal doesn’t lose much. We are getting a good enough price to wager on Montreal winning so that seems like a good banker bet. I am also a fan of the over 2.5 goals which should win since Montreal and San Jose both score lots of goals.
