Napoli is welcoming Juventus in round 26 of Italian Serie A.
Napoli is playing some of the best soccer in Italy and are holding 2ndplace in the standings with 56 points and a home record of 11 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses. Napoli haven’t lost any of their last 23 home matches and have scored 12 goals in their last 6 matches overall. Milik leads Napoli with 14 goals while Insigne and Mertens each added 8. In their last game against Parma away from home, Napoli completely dominated with 68% ball possession, 5 shots on goal and 87% of correct passes and have won 0:4 with Milik scoring two goals. Napoli likes to play with a lot of possessions and short passes and are not taking a lot of shots from outside the box, instead they use their wingers to create space and place the ball in the 18 yard box. On the defensive end Napoli has only 18 conceded goals so far this season and only 1 conceded goal in their last 6 games. Mario Rui, Albiol and Maksimovic are injured and will not play this game. Napoli is safe in the second place with 9 points ahead of Inter on 3rdand chances of catching up to Juventus at the top are slim to none so only thing they can do is to keep playing well and focus more on the European League.
Juventus is a top dog in Italy and it has been for years. Juventus has best offense in Serie A with 53 scored goals and best defense with only 15 conceded goals and because of that they are 13 points ahead of Napoli at the top of the standings. Cristiano Ronaldo was Juventus’ biggest signing before the season began and he started showing his worth to the team and has scored 19 goals and added 7 assists in 25 games while Mandzukic added 8 goals and while these two players have amazing chemistry on the field and are playing great together when you add Dyabala and Pjanic into the mix you get one of the best offensive lines there are. In their last away match against Bologna, Juventus wasn’t playing well and it was pretty even match with split possession percentage with Bologna creating more shots and dangerous plays then Juventus but that was the game where best defense in Serie A came into play and managed to keep the ball out of the net and win this game 0:1 in the end. Juventus’ away record is 11 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses. Juventus is playing well balanced soccer by controlling the midfield and fast transition into attacking third of the field where Ronaldo and Madzukic are doing their job.
These two teams have met this season back in September with Juventus scooping the victory but a lot has changed since and both teams are playing some great soccer at the moment and because Napoli haven’t lost a home game and Juventus haven’t lost away game I think it will stay this way after this match.
