Germany vs Netherlands
|Date & Time||Sunday October 14, 2018, 2:45 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Germany +110 / Netherlands +250/ Draw +275 -- Over/Under: 2.5
Netherlands will host Germany in the next round of matches for the UEFA Nations League. This match is set to be played at Amsterdam ArenA
The Netherlands have only won once in their past 3 matches which was against Peru. This team has struggled as they failed to make the World Cup with most of their key players on the wrong side of 30. The defense has been the biggest issue for the Netherlands as the team has only kept one clean sheet in their past 5 matches. This match will be another test for the Dutch defense and it will be important for the likes of Virgil Van Dijk to perform well to ensure the team can stop the German attack. The Dutch will have the support of their home fans which should give the team a boost.
On the other side of the coin, Germany have not been at their best either. Following a disappointing World Cup, the German national side has only won 1 match which was a friendly against Peru. On a positive note, Germany did manage to get a draw against France in their last competitive match and that performance showed that the likes of Hummels and Boateng still had the ability to perform for the national side. The strikers for Germany have been in good form for their clubs as the likes of Marco Reus and Timo Werner have been playing well. With the Dutch defense looking in terrible form, Germany should have a big advantage with their talented attacking players.
Taking everything into consideration, I am picking Germany to win this match. While both teams have struggled recently, Germany still looks the better team. The Dutch defense has been horrible while Germany seems to find ways to score. With only 1 win in the past 3 games, I see Netherlands losing this match and Germany getting their first win of the UEFA Nations League.
