One of the games of the week in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers will see the Netherlands play host to Iceland at the Amsterdam Arena. Currently sitting five points behind Iceland in the Group and with their own fate out of their hands the Netherlands simply must win this game and hope that they can win their remaining qualifier games in order to guarantee themselves a chance at automatic promotion. The dutch have got themselves into this mess by losing to iceland 2-0 and the Czech Republic 2-1 in two of their first three qualifiers. With a galaxy of stars though the Netherlands are one of the best teams in Europe led by bayern Munich brilliant midfielder Arjen Robben and former Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie this is a side that can beat anyone on their day. Backboned by youth with current manchester United winger Depay, defender Daley blind and a whole host of talent from across the best leagues in Europe this is a squad any international manager would envy.
On the other side we have an Iceland team that top the group because they play as a team an work extremely hard for each other from start to finish. Swansea midfielder Sigurddson is the undoubtede star of the side but with experienced played like Gudjohnson still there to help out the younger players it is easy to see why this team and its balanced approach has worked so well so far in qualifying. There is still a long way to go for Iceland to make it to the Euro's proper and they have tough games against the Netherland and the Czech Republic but right now it has to be pretty good to be an Iceland supporter.
I have been a massive fan of this Netherlands team for a long time, but honestly they are not playing well and at the moment I find it very hard to take them in a qualifier especially at the terrible price they are to win this one. Iceland deserve more respect here and I am taking Iceland +0.5 on the half time handicap as I think this Iceland team can frustrate the dutch and possibly even get a result over 90 mins one thing for sure is that this will be a tight tense affair and it may take something special to win it for either team.
