New England Revolution vs Columbus Crew 5/19/18: MLS Soccer Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

The past few seasons have not been great for the New England Revolution but it seems like the side is getting better. This weekend they will be at home as they take on the Columbus Crew. If New England can win this game, they will be one point behind Columbus in the Eastern Conference so both teams should be very motivated to do well.

Columbus are sitting second on the Eastern Conference but having played more games than the other teams, it will be important that they keep winning to ensure they don’t fall behind when the extra games have been played. The Crew are a very talented side and they will feel that they have more talent than New England. That being said, playing away from home is never easy in the MLS and it is something that the Columbus Crew will need to deal with this weekend.

On the other side of the coin, the New England Revolution will look at this game as a chance to beat one of the top sides and show the rest of the MLS that they are playoff material. At home, the Revolution have been very hard to beat having only lost once which is a very impressive achievement. This trend will give the home side tons of confidence and they will look to use that as they take on the Columbus Crew this weekend.

All in all, I am going to predict that this game ends as a draw. While Columbus are the better side, it has been very hard to beat the New England Revolution at home. The draw seems like a fair result and we are getting a great price wagering on it.
