Arsenal will begin their 2019/2020 English Premier League season at St James Park where they will play against Newcastle United.

Newcastle United finished in 13th place last season as they got 45 points from their games. It was a decent season for Newcastle United but considering the size of the club, expectations will be much higher this season.

It has been a decent transfer window for Newcastle United with their biggest singing being Joelinton. Joelinton is a dangerous player and he will help Newcastle score more goals this season. Newcastle United have also signed Allan Saint-Maximin from Nice. Allan Saint-Maximin will prove pace and creativity on the right-wing. The biggest loss for Newcastle has been the departure of Ayoze Perez who was sold to Leicester City. This will be a tough match for Newcastle United as they are playing an elite team in Arsenal.

Looking at Arsenal, the team will be desperate to secure a spot in the top 4 after the team failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.

It has been a busy transfer window for Arsenal as they have made big signings to help improve the side. Nicolas Pepe was the biggest signing for the Gunners as they paid £72 million to sign him from Lille. Nicolas Pepe is a highly talented winger and he will aid Arsenal with assists and goals. Dani Ceballos and Gabriel Martinelli have also joined the club. In addition to big signings, Arsenal have also gotten rid of many expensive squad players like Danny Welbeck and David Ospina. Arsenal have a stronger side this season and they will be optimistic about their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

As far as this match is concerned, I am going to pick Arsenal to win the game. Newcastle have a solid side and are playing at home but I don’t see them having enough quality to compete. Arsenal have an elite squad and I see them starting their season a win and 3 points of the board.
