Manchester United travel to St James Park to take on Newcastle in Wednesday night's BT Sport Live game. BT might have snagged a classic here as Manchester United just dont seem to be able to defend this season but have been able to score plenty of goals. Louis Van Gaal says he is looking for a twenty goals a season striker, well he has two in Falcao and Rooney but he seems reluctant to stick to that partnership. Falcao was excellent at the weekend against Sunderland, his movement, work rate were phenomenal. Add to that the piece of brilliance he produced to win the penalty that ultimately won the game and Manchester United fans are getting a glimpse of the player they hope to sign this summer. Given time Falcao is going to be back to his brilliant best by next season. Goals will come, they have for the entirety of his career, Van Gaal just needs to play his through the center with a striker partner and put wingers on the wing. If Di Maria can find his early season form and Young can continue his current form then Manchester United will win alot of games with Falcao and Rooney up top.
Papa Cisse has been like a one man show for newcastle this season as his eleven goals in nine starts this season is a ridiculously good return. Cisse has come in and started most of the games under John Carver though with Perez and Riviere being his alternating striker partnership. Newcastle have a strong midfield led by Cisse and they provide plenty of attacking threat on the wings with Ameobi and former Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan. The magpies are on a decent run of form lately as well having won against Villa at the weekend and only lost one of their last five games. Newcastle though are a hard team to figure out in terms of form, St James Park will be rocking tonight for the visit of Manchester United as the Newcastle fans are among the best in the league for creating atmosphere.
I am tempted by the price on Manchester United at evens, I think they are turning a corner but their away form has been so poor this season I just cant take that chance . Instead I am going to opt for the overs. There is value in the price as NEwcastle have been decent at home and havent conceded man. I see both getting a couple tonight though as United's offence should have too much for Newcastle's defence and likewise newcastle are going to be dangerous against this porous Manchester United defence. On a side note tonight could be the night we see Falcao finally deliver some goals for Manchester United.
