Newcastle United vs Manchester United - 1/2/18 English Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Newcastle United are set to host Manchester United at St James Park. The Magpies and the Red Devils are both very big clubs meaning this should be a very passionate game for football.

Newcastle United managed to get a point in their last outing as they faced Watford away from home. The Magpies have been struggling to score all season and that is the reason why they are very close to the bottom of the ladder. The Magpies were quite poor against Watford as they only had 37% of the ball and were very lucky to get a point. As it currently stands, Newcastle are very close to the relegation zone meaning they will need to fight very hard to try and get something from this fixture.

On the other side of the coin, Manchester City have been exceptional since their new manager took over. The Red Devils have won both of their games and the strikers seem to be scoring very easily. In their last outing, Manchester United were very good against Bournemouth. Paul Pogba was very impressive as he scored twice. Lukaku also seems to have returned to form as the Belgian striker was very good in the game against Bournemouth. This is a match that Manchester United are expected to win and the team will feel confident considering they have been playing very well prior to taking the pitch.

When these two teams met earlier in the season, Manchester United won that game 3-2. Manchester United was at home for that fixture.

All in all, I am going to pick Manchester United to win this match. The Red Devils have been in great form and the likes of Pogba and Lukaku are leading the team well. With two wins under their belt, I see Manchester United continuing their momentum and getting another 3 points on the board.
