St James Park will be packed for the opening round of the English Premier League as Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspurs. Both these teams have large support across the world and that usually results in big expectations. This is the case for both teams and they will be desperate to ensure they can start their seasons with a win. This should be a really good football match.

Rafa Benitez has done wonders for Newcastle United as the Magpies managed to establish themselves as a mid-table side last season. This side has further improved during the summer as they have signed some top players including Brazilian midfielder, Kenedy, on loan. He should pair up well with Jonjo Shelvey to provide the Magpies a very exciting midfield. The likes of Dwight Gayle and Ayoze Perez are still at the club which means that the attacking line has not been diminished. The defense should still be solid and that will mean that Newcastle United will be able to play a very strong team most weeks. This will be a tough start to the season since Tottenham are a very good team but it will be interesting to see how the Magpies respond to the challenge.

Tottenham have had a very poor transfer window as they Spurs have struggled to make any big signings. While this is a disadvantage, Tottenham have not lost many players during the summer which means they will have a similar squad to last season. This team did very well last season and many expect the team to improve as the players have only gotten better. Playing away from home at Newcastle is not an easy opening round but the manager will feel that they have the better team.

I am going to predict that this game ends in a draw. While Tottenham have a better set of players, I think Newcastle will be too hard to beat at home. The crowd at St James Park often acts as a 12th player and I think that should be enough to ensure the home team gets a point. We are getting a great price wagering on the draw so that is the bet I am going to suggest.
