Two sides that have not been on their best during this season face off in what should be a battle for salvation on the side of Villa. Since Pardew left Newcastle, the team has seen some sort of form however their interim manager does not have the calibre in order to compete in the Premier League. Although they have been competitive it does not seem they have what it takes to return to European football as they are usually deemed to deserve in England.
Since the appointment of Tim Sherwood, Aston Villa fans do seem a lot more hopeful of perhaps escaping the dreaded relegation. They certainly do have the talent and it does seem that if they start getting the results in these types of matches it should be possible. If Poyet did it with Sunderland last year why shouldn’t Sherwood accomplish the same feat with a much stronger Villa squad.
It seems that Villa’s hope of salvation relies on the performance of Benteke. Usually a prolific striker, we have seen Benteke suffer multiple injuries and not perform to the standards that he was made us become used to. For this reason we have seen talents like Andres Weimann arise to prominence. I do believe that Villa will awake sooner rather than later and they will start stringing a good set of results before the campaign runs its course.
For this reason I am recommending that you guys bet on Villa getting the upset as they are the team with the more motivation and considering the Newcastle is sitting mid table they do not have any danger of relegation but also they do not possess any ambitions for the end of the season as they do find it pretty impossible to escape the middle of the table with their current coach and squad.
