St James Park will be hosting Manchester United this weekend as Newcastle look to try and get something from the Red Devils in front of their home crowd. This has historically been a good game and St James Park is a hard place to play away so for LVG this will be another chance to prove himself, although these chances seem to be running out.
Manchester United won their last game in the Premier League but it came after a long winless streak and the Red Devils will want to prove that the streak is well and truly over. A win here will do that and in all honesty they should. This team has talent but the manager has taken all the life out of the side and they need it back if they are to make the top 4 this year. Having said that, they should coast home this weekend since their opponents are poor although I am not in a state where I trust them to win.
Newcastle will take hope from that and also look to motivation at the fact that they got a draw at Old Trafford earlier this year. This will give the side some confidence but they will have to be at their best if they want to get a similar result since Manchester United are a talented side even though their recent results don’t suggest this.
Overall I think that United will win this match but the odds are not great and I don’t have that much confidence in them since they have not been winning consistently and these are the games they have been failing to win. That being said, you can be sure that it will be a low scoring match since LVG will take away all the life from the game. I am taking the under 2.5 goals here since it is the safe bet and it is paying well enough in a 2 way market.
