Irish side Shamrock Rovers travel to Norway to take on ODD looking to turn around a 2-0 deficit after giving away two soft goals in the first leg. Odd led by Canadian Occean who netted both goals in the first leg have a nice cushion here and know that even a loss by a goal here. Odd played well in the first leg but were somewhat lucky to win the game. It's hard to gauge whether Odd were being a little cautious in the first leg but Shamrock Rovers definitely had their chances and the Norwegians were heavy in the tackle at times.
Pat Fenlon's side can go to Norway confident that if they can get a goal this tie could all shange dramatically. In the first game Rovers had their chances and they really should have done better with a couple of good first half chances. Drennan and Waters up front will need to be more clinical if Shamrock Rovers are to get anything out of this game but with nothing to lose I think the Irish side will go out and have a go from the off at the Odd Stadion in Skien. This is shot to nothing as trailing by two goals Shamrock Rovers know they must score at least twice and win the game by two clear goals to have any chance of qualifying.
Having been to the first game I was disappointed at the result for Rovers but I thought that in general they played well enough to get something from the game. Odd did not look like a side that were much better than the Irish team and a fair result on the night would probably have been a draw. It will be a tough ask for Shamrock Rovers to go over to Norway and win but I think they can get something from the game. I'm going to take Shamrock Rovers +1 on the handicap as I think they will redeem themselves a little here, might not be enough to qualify for the next round but I think they can get something from this game.
