Argentina come into this game against Paraguay off the back of a shock loss to Equador in Buenos Aires, two goals in two minutes allowed Equador to get the win but worryingly for Argentina they really did not create all that much and the loss of Sergio Aguero in the first half compounded with the loss of Lionel Messi early last week has left Argentina missing their two best players. There is no doubt that this Argentina squad should be able to deal with a couple of injuries, Carlos Tevez and Lavezzi are there to come into the side and with Di Maria, Pastore, Gaga all in the midfield there is more than enough talent to win these qualifying games but Paraguay is a tough place to go and over the last two World Cup qualifiers Paraguay have beaten both Brazil and Argentina at home.
Paraguay will work hard, they dont have the same household names as Argentina but you can be guaranteed 1-11 will work for each other and any substitute that comes in will give their all. Gonzalez netted the winner at the weekend and the Dynamo Kiev winger will be key if Paraguay are again to get a good result here. With Barrios and Bobadilla also key men up front this is a team that is the sum of their parts.
On Tuesday I think that Paraguay will set up to defend and hold this Argentina team who without Messi and Aguero simply are not as good. The odds here dictate that taking the home underdog on the handicap looks likely to be a solid investment but I like the unders just as much and given the better odds on the unders that is what I am going to take. I think that Paraguay dont really look likely to create much up front and Argentina will dominate possession. Given how poorly Argentina played last weekend it is tough to see them scoring a hatful of goals here so the unders looks almost nailed on.
