While the World Cup is happening in Russia, the MLS continues in North America. This weekend the Philadelphia Union take on the Vancouver Whitecaps at home at the Talen Energy Stadium.
The home side, Philadelphia Union, currently site in 8th spot in the Eastern Conference and need to start winning if they want to have any hope of making the playoffs this season. The Union have lost their last 2 MLS games and although this has caused them to drop down the ladder, they beat the New York Red Bulls in the US Open Cup and that victory will give to side some confidence as they head into this game at home.
On the other side of the coin, the Vancouver Whitecaps are fighting for the top spots in a closely contested Western Conference. The Canadian side has played more games than some of the other teams around them on the ladder so they must keep winning to ensure they don’t fall behind the rest of the sides. Vancouver are now unbeaten in 6 games and while this is impressive, they have lost many points due to draws and they will want to improve on that in this game.
All in all, I think that the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps will win this game. The away side is in much better form and I think the visitors also have better players in the team. While this game in is Philadelphia, I think the Whitecaps leave with all three points. We are getting a great price to wager on the away side to win so betting on the outright result is the best play in my opinion.
