Tough ask here for CSKA who must go to Eindhoven and win in order to qualify for the Europa League and European football after the Christmas. Its' tough to see how CSKA can pick themselves up after a home loss to Wolfsburg which basically condemned them to either Europa League or no european football after Christmas. The Russian league leaders are going through a rough patch at the moment having lost four of their last five in all competitions and struggling to find the net in recent games. With Musa and Doumbia though they have class players up front and with Tosic and Eremenko in midfield they have the creative players to cause teams problems. CSKA were excellent on the counter attack against Manchester United in both games and they are going to be doing alot of that here as PSV go for a win that should see them into the knockout stages, this could be the perfect set up for CSKA to hit them on the counter.
PSV know they must either win or draw and hope Manchester United lose in order to qualify for the knockout stages. PSV have come into strong form at the right time as they look to qualify for the knockout stages for the first time since 2006/2007 season. PSV have an undouubted leader and star striker in DE Jong who has nothched thirteen in fourteen games in the league this year but only one in five appearances in the Champions League. He will want to address that here at home and against a CSKA team that have really struggled defensively of late.
Impossible for me to see anything but a PSV win here, there is just too much riding on it for the home team and I think they have played the better football and do deserve to qualify from this group. A win and a draw against Manchester United has set them up now it's all about closing the deal with a home win here which I think Philip Cocu's men will achieve and at 4/5 PSV are one of the strong bets of the Tuesday games.
