Leipzig is hosting Bayern Munchen in round 33 of German Bundesliga.
Leipzig is a solid team and has been close to the top of Bundesliga for 3 years now and will once again get qualified for Champions League. Leipzig is on a 7-game streak without a loss and will be playing DFB Pokal finals against Bayern Munchen in 15 days. In their last game against Mainz, Leipzig didn’t have a good game with only 43% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal and only 69% of correct passes and the match ended in a 3-3 draw. Timo Werner is the best player and top goal scorer in Leipzig with 16 goals while Poulsen added 15 goals. Upamecano, Adams, and Mvogo are injured and will not play in this match. Leipzig has a great home record of 10 wins, 5 draws and only 1 loss which makes them one of the top home teams in Germany. Leipzig is playing really good, enjoyable and offensively oriented soccer and is proof how a club can reach Bundesliga from German fourth division in only 4 years. Coach Ragnick was signed in July of 2018 and has lost only 8 games since then, but he will be leaving on the end of the season and Julian Nagelsmann will be taking over.
Bayern is playing amazing soccer with a lot of passes through their wingers and a lot of shots and for that reason, Bayern is one of the top offensive teams in Europe with 83 scored goals. In their last game against Hannover, Bayern displayed great soccer with 70% of ball possession, 14 shots on goal, 11 corner kicks and 90% of correct passes and has won this game 3-1 and because Borussia Dortmund lost, Bayern is 4 points ahead at the top of Bundesliga. Bayern is a team filled with some of the best players in the world like Alcantara, Rodriguez, Muller, Kimmich, and Lewandowski who is Bayern’s top goal scorer with 22 goals. Neuer and Martinez are injured and will not play. Neuer is Bayern’s star goalkeeper and when he is healthy, he is the best goalkeeper in the world and Bayern is a completely different team, but since Neuer has gotten injured, Bayern has conceded at least 1 goal in the 7 of their last 10 games. Coach Niko Kovac is doing a good job on the bench but despite that there a lot of rumors in and around the club that he will get fired once the season is over but if Bayern wins Bundesliga and DFB Pokal it will be hard for Bayern’s management to fire Kovac.
Leipzig and Bayern have played 6 times so far with Bayern winning 5 and Leipzig 1 of those games. There were at least 2 goals scored in 5 of those games and I expect same to happen in this game so instead of picking either team, I will pick something on goals.
