Leipzig and Bayern are playing the final match of German DFB Pokal.

Leipzig is a solid team who ended on the 3rd place in Bundesliga with 66 points, 10 points behind Borussia Dortmund and 12 points behind Bayern and also got qualified for Champions League next season. In their last game in Bundesliga against Werder, Leipzig had a decent game with 51% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks and 81% of correct passes and has lost this game 2-1 with a goal in the 88th minute. Leipzig is a team with some great players like Poulsen, Kampl, Forsberg, Sabitzer, and Werner who is their best player and will probably continue his career in Bayern Munich next season. There are no injured players in Leipzig squad so coach Rangnick will have his strongest lineup at his disposal. Rangnick has done a great job as a Leipzig head coach and this will be his last game because he is leaving after this match and former Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann will be taking over. Leipzig has been playing nice and offensive soccer whole season long and has scored 63 goals and conceded only 29 goals which make them one of the best defensive teams in Bundesliga. Leipzig hasn’t finished the season in a good form and hasn’t won any of their last 3 games but this is the finals and players are filled with confidence and can’t wait for this game to start.

Bayern Munich is Bundesliga champion once again with 78 points, 2 points more than Borussia Dortmund. With 88 scored goals and only 32 conceded goals in 34 matches, Bayern has once again demonstrated their firepower. Lewandowski was Bayern’s top goal scorer and Bundesliga top goal scorer with 22 goals. In their last Bundesliga game against Eintracht, Bayern needed at least 1 point to become the champions and they did it in style. Bayern had 61% of ball possession, 14 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 80% of correct passes and have won this game 5-1 with goals from Coman, Alaba, Sanches, and 2 Bayern legends Ribery and Robben who will be leaving Bayern after this match. Bayern has been struggling on the beginning of this season and was behind Borussia for huge 12 points at some point but coach Kovac has done a great job in keeping his players morale high and got them back on winning track and on the top of Bundesliga. There was a lot of rumors of coach Kovac getting fired after this season, but Bayern’s management has announced this week that he will be staying in Bayern regardless of the result in this DFB Pokal finals game. Leon Goretzka is only injured player in Bayern’s squad and will not be playing in this match. Bayern is playing the best soccer in Germany with lots of short passes and plays through their wingers who are then crossing the ball into the 18-yard box. This will be the last game for Robben and Ribery who I’m sure will be motivated to say goodbye to Bayern with one more trophy.

Leipzig is a good team with some great players but both form and quality are on Bayern’s side and Bundesliga secured, Bayern will do everything to win DFB Pokal and end this season with 2 trophies. Because Bayern is playing better soccer and is in far better form, I see them winning here.

FC Bayern München -200

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
