Real Madrid vs Athletico Madrid 2 May 2017: UCL Preview and Predictions

The semi-final has arrived and the fans are getting reading for what should be a great few games in European football. The first game will see a Madrid derby as Real Madrid host their across town rivals, Athletico Madrid. Both teams will have a lot of pressure on them since a good performance here will set up the tie very well for the second leg.

Athletico had an easy win on the weekend and they will feel fresh and ready as they head into this big clash. This is a good team but at the moment, with the decline of Diego Godin and a weak midfield, they have the potential to struggle in this match. That being said, we are expecting a disciplined performance from Athletico here so we will have to see how that turns out.

Real Madrid on the other hand have a lot to look at with their recent performances but this is a side made for the big occasions and I think this might just bring the best out of the likes of Ronaldo. This game will surely be a test for them but I think they will stand up to it.

All in all, I am expecting a good performance and I think Real Madrid will be too strong for their counterparts. We are not getting a great price though on this bet and as a result I am suggesting to avoid it. That being said, I think this will be a low scoring game since Simeone might park the bus so as a result I am going to go for the under 2.5 goals.
