Real Madrid vs Athletico Madrid 27 Feb 2016: La Liga Preview and Prediction

Soccer | Athletico Madrid (2nd) Real Madrid (3rd)

The Madrid derby is on this weekend and all eyes in the Spanish capital will be on the match which involves two of the best sides in the world. Real Madrid is slowly slipping as the best team in Madrid but these are games where tides are changed so Ronaldo and his men will be ready to go in front of their home crowd this weekend. Athletico on the other hand will have other ideas as they will look to show dominance over their cross-town rivals so I am expecting a very good game come this weekend.

Real Madrid are not playing their best football but this team is still managing to get some good results. They are playing well in the Champions League and their domestic season still has hope. That being said there is a lot of room available for improvement and this game will be a good chance for their new coach to show what the team is made of. Their superstar, Ronaldo, is struggling as well so things are not the best at the moment for this Blancos but nevertheless they are still a good team.

Athletico on the other hand are playing some of the best football they possibly can, especially in the domestic league. Granted they failed to win in the Champions League but that will not bother them too much since nothing is lost yet for them. This team is filled with talent and they are rebuilt well each year so it is amazing to see them do so well.

Overall though, I think that the points are going to be split. Athletico might be playing better at the moment but I expect Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo to be pumped up by their home crowd and that should help them salvage a point at least. I think that betting the outright result is the way to go here as well since we are getting a good price and I think it should get there.
