Real Madrid is hosting Bacelona in second leg of Copa del Rey semifinals.

Real Madrid is coming into this match in good form and with 1-1 result from first leg which is giving them an edge over Barcelona because of an away goal. Real Madrid has lost only one of their last 10 games and have scored 24 goals over that period which is average of more then 2 goals per game. Real Madrid’s defense is much better since Santiago Solari was signed as head coach back in October but it still isn’t on a level that you would expect it to be from one of the best teams in the world. Real has conceded at least 1 goal in 8 of their last 10 games. In their last game in LaLiga against Levante, Real Madrid was dominant with 61% ball possession and 5 shot on goal with 85% of correct passes and have routinely won that game 1-2. Real Madrid is playing really offensively oriented and enjoyable soccer and are expected to play with strongest lineup. Isco is only player that is injured and will not play in this game.

Barcelona is coming into this match full of confidence after their victory over Sevilla in what turned out to be one of the best games this season and  has left Barca without a loss in their last 4 away games. Barcelona was losing against Sevilla twice despite controlling the game with 61% ball possesion but with Messi scoring 3 goals and assisted for 1 goal Barcelona has won 2-4. Barcelona is scoring a lot of goals even though Suarez, Dembele and Coutinho being in bad form. On the defensive end, Barcelona is very vulnerable to counter attacks because the defenders are staying high up the field when in possession of the ball leaving their goalkeeper Ter Stegen high and dry more often than not. Rafinha, Cillessen and Arthur are injured and will not play while everyone else are ready and coach Valverde is expected to put his strongest players out there. First leg of this semifinals was played on Camp Nou in Barcelona and game ended 1-1 which puts Barcelona under pressure because they need to score at least 1 goal to have a shot at the finals.

The clash between these two teams is always full of tension before and during the match and usually produces a lot of chances and goals and because both teams are goal scoring power houses and are having issues on the defensive end I’m going to pick something on goals here.

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
