Roma vs Liverpool 2 May 2018: UCL Soccer Preview and Predictions

Liverpool had a massive win in their first leg of the Champions League tie against Roma. Now they will be travel to Rome to play the second leg where they have a three goals advantage. This is a big game for both teams since a place in the final of the UEFA Champions League is available.

Roma were poor in the first leg at Anfield and although they conceded 5 goals, they scored 2 away goals to give them a chance. The Italians were good enough to beat Barcelona at home and if they score early, they will have the opportunity to cause some nerves in the Liverpool team. For Roma to have a chance, they need to attack Liverpool and hope that the like of Edin Dzeko can finish some chances. It will not be easy for Roma but I expect a good performance from the Italian side regardless.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, they need to stay calm and play sensibly and they should get through to the final. Entering this game with a 3 goals advantage is massive but having conceded twice at home, it will not be easy to keep the fans quiet. The defense has been shaky but if that can improve I expect Liverpool to go through to the next stage of the competition.

All in all, I see this game being a very attacking contest. Both sides will look to go through and with Roma attacking, it will also give Liverpool many chances to score. It is tough to predict a winner in these games since the 90 minutes result doesn’t count. That being said, this should be a high scoring game and as a result, I am going to suggest that we bet on the over 2.5 goals.
