Bundesliga's game of the week comes from the Veltins Arena where Shalke will look to be the first team to beat Bayern Munich domestically this season. Schalke are in terrible form without a win in six but if you look at their schedule over this period they faced some very tough teams with Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mochengladback twice, this is a Schalke team that has some serious striking talent with Choupo Moting, Huntelaar and Franko Di Santo up top. They will most certainly fancy their chances of taking the game to Bayern Munich but they must also get their tactics right as this is a Bayern Munich team that can shred teams who try to come out and play open expeansive football against them.
Pep Guardiola's side have been a machine this year in the Bundesliga with eleven wins and draw in twelve games. There are some rumours coming out of discontent in the group though with a supposed rift between Robben and Lewandowski. Bayern Munich have such a talented squad though that Guardiola couold conceivably keep both players happy by rotation. Muller(11 goals), Douglas Costa (7 assists, 2 goals), Lewandowski (14 goals) are off to flying starts and Bayern have only conceded four goals so far this season and only one goal away from home. This is possibly the best side that Bayern Munich have ever assembled and that is saying something considering the great teams that have gone before for Munich.
This one is a strange game to handicap. Bayern Munich are obviously hot favourites given the two teams form and current squads but for some reason I cant see Munich blowing Schalke away here. Given a two goal head start I think Schalke are a decent bet and for some reason I cant shake the feeling that Schalke might just upset the apple carts in Germany this weekend by turning over the champions.
