Italian top-flight action is back and the opening weekend gave us plenty to talk about. There were 33 goals across the 10 matches, that’s an average of over 3 goals per game!

Juventus and Napoli both started with wins while Roma could only manage a draw at home to Genoa. Inter put 4 past Lecce while cross-city rivals Milan lost to Udinese.

Here are the best bets and top picks for the second round of the Serie A 2019/20 campaign.

Bologna vs. SPAL – 8/30/19

Bologna and SPAL both scored and conceded in their opening match and this is likely to happen again when the two teams meet on Friday. Both teams conceded 56 goals in the previous Serie A campaign and neither has done enough in the summer transfer window to suggest that their defensive problems will be ending any time soon. SPAL were beaten 3-2 by Atalanta on the opening day after taking a 2-0 lead in the first half while Bologna picked up a 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona. Both teams to score appears to be an attractive bet.

Pick: Both Teams to Score – 1.91

Juventus vs. Napoli - 8/31/19

Napoli have finished second behind Juventus in three of the last four seasons and have been Juve’s only genuine title challenger in recent times. Juventus kicked-off their 2019/20 account with a 1-0 win at Parma while Napoli beat Fiorentina 4-3 in dramatic fashion. I expect this match to be far less eventful as both sides look to keep things tight in defense. Neither team will want to give anything away so early on in the season and I can see it being a very low scoring match. You can get odds of 3.2 for under 1.5 goals however under 2.5 goals is looking more likely.

Pick: Under 2.5 Goals – 1.73

Cagliari vs. Inter Milan - 9/01/19

Inter Milan started the season in emphatic style by thrashing Lecce 4-0. On the other hand, Cagliari got off to a dismal start as they were beaten 1-0 by Brescia. Inter had four different goal scorers in their opening tie, including a debut goal for new big-money signing Romelu Lukaku. Cagliari finished with a goal difference of –18 in the previous campaign whereas Inter recorded an impressive +24. Inter appear to be in great form at the start of the new campaign and I can see them beating Cagliari convincingly on Sunday.

Pick: Inter Milan to Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 2.6
