Sevilla is welcoming Celta Vigo in round 3 of Spanish LaLiga.
Sevilla is playing great soccer on both ends of the field and is yet to concede a goal in LaLiga in this season. In their last match against Granada, Sevilla was a much better team with 55% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 81% of correct passes and has won 0-1 in another away game. After the first 2 games of LaLiga season, Sevilla's best player was Sergio Reguilon with 1 goal and 1 assist and an average rating of 7.70. Sevilla was always a good offensive team, but by signing Lopetegui as a new head coach in July of this year, Sevilla has gotten a lot better on the defensive end as well. There will be some fluctuations on the defensive end as the season will go along, but Sevilla has the quality and game style to compete for one of the top 5 spots in the standings. There are no injured players in Sevilla's squad which means that coach Lopetegui will have his best players at his disposal for Sevilla's first home game this season. Sevilla is at the top of the LaLiga standings at the moment and if they keep playing well they just might stay there for a while. Sevilla is a dangerous team who can make every other team suffer, even the strongest teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid. Most of Sevilla's attacks are going through their wingers Nolito and Navas, and Sevilla is extremely precise on counter-attacks which makes them even more dangerous.
Celta Vigo barely stayed in LaLiga after a catastrophic last season which forced the management to do a soft rebuild of their squad. In the first two games, Celta has lost one and won one game and has conceded 3 goals while scored 2 goals. In their last game against Valencia at home, Celta had a solid game with 54% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 85% of correct passes and has won 1-0. If these first two games are any indication of the future, Celta will have a much better season than last year. Celta likes to play high possession in the midfield and strong pressure when they don't have possession and is capable of fast transition when they take the ball on their half. Yokususlu and Alvarez are both injured and will not play in this game. Francisco Segura was signed as Celta's head coach in March of this year and he is the main reason why Celta managed to stay in LaLiga. The team and all the players have accepted him and his ideas pretty fast and improvement was almost instantaneous. Celta has a young team with a lot of potentials and even though I think they will have a much better season than the last, I don't see Celta higher than 10th place in the standings.
Sevilla has been dominant against Celta while playing at home and because Sevilla is in better form and this is their first game at home I will pick Sevilla here.
