Sevilla is welcoming FC Barcelona in quarterfinals match in Spanish Copa del Rey on Wednesday
Sevilla is one of the best teams, possessing great players, solid chemistry and attack oriented gameplay. Last season Sevilla played in the finals of this competition against the same team they are hosting in this game, FC Barcelona, and it was a game to remember with plenty of great plays, 5 goals, and many missed chances. Sevilla lost, 5:0 in that contest and even though Sevilla did not score a goal, they had a lot of chances and the misses cost them greatly. Sevilla is out for revenge in this match in front of their own fans and for that to happen they will need to play a game of their lives. Sevilla has 3 injured players from which one is very important, Nolito, Munir El Haddadi just arrived from FC Barcelona and could be very important in the near future. Last game Sevilla played was against Real Madrid in Spanish LaLiga and they losing 2:0. Even though Sevilla has lost their last 3 games, I’m not expecting them to just surrender, I’m expecting strong, patient and attractive game play from them.
Barcelona is fresh off of a win over Levante. Even without Messi and Rakitic in starting lineup, Barcelona completely dominated throughout the entire match. Messi and Rakitic were being rested in their game against Levante to have them fresh for this game against Sevilla. Barcelona will travel to Sevilla without few key players such as Umtiti and Dembele who were injured last game against Levante and will be off the field for a couple of weeks. Barcelona’s game will not change at all for this game, they will play with high possession percentage, a lot of passes and a lot of created chances coming from best player in the world, Lionel Messi.
Head to head, last time Sevilla has beaten Barcelona was back in 2015., and since then they had no luck. With all that being said, I’m expecting at least 3 goals on this match and Barcelona’s victory.
