Sevilla is hosting Barcelona in a Derby Match round 25 of Spanish LaLiga.

Sevilla is not playing well in LaLiga at the moment and are winless in last 3 LaLiga matches. Sevilla is holding 4th place in the standings which is the last spot that leads into Champions League next season and if they want to stay there their game style will need to change. Sevilla is one of the top offensive teams in LaLiga with 38 scored goals in 24 matches but have had issues on the defensive end recently. Sevilla was playing a midweek match against Lazio in Europa League and won 2-0 by having 48% ball possession and 5 shots on goal. Ben Yedder leads Sevilla with 11 goals while Silva added 9 goals. Gonalons, Nolito, Vidal, Gnagnon and Escudero are all injured and will not play this game. Sevilla’s home record this season is 7 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. Sevilla is filled with confidence after midweek win and will want to snap out of this 3 game streak without a win and keep their Champions League chances alive.

Barcelona is in a bit of a slump on the offensive end at the moment and have played 4 draws in last 6 matches. Barcelona had midweek match against Lyon and played 0-0 which some teams would consider success but not Barcelona. Messi is the best player in the world and leader of Barca squad but at the moment he doesn’t have a lot of support on the offensive end. Suarez has not scored a goal in a few games and even longer in away game, Dembele just got off injury while Coutinho has had a forgettable season so far. On the defensive end Barcelona has improved a lot and have conceded only 1 goal in last 4 games. Overall, Barcelona is playing really nice soccer and in their last game has had 64% possession, 25 shots in total and 84% of correct passes but scored 0 goals. Rafinha, Cillessen and Arthur are injured and will not play. Barcelona is at the top of LaLiga with 54 points with both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid breathing on their necks.

These 2 teams have met on January 23rd and 30th in what turned out to be two great and fun games with a lot of chances and 9 goals. Sevilla will want to end their negative streak and Barcelona will want to stay at the safe distance from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid and because of that I’m expecting a game with a lot of goals.

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
